Gaza War, End of Netanyahu’s Political Life

2024/01/06 | Note, political, top news

Strategic Council Online - Opinion: The impact of the war in Gaza on Benjamin Netanyahu’s “political future” is one of the “important consequences” of the war in the internal arena of the Zionist regime. The war in Gaza will be the end of Netanyahu’s political life, who made many efforts to gain power in the last election. Hamid Khoshayand - Expert on regional affairs

The consequences of the Gaza war on Netanyahu’s political life were quite clear from the first hours when the Al-Aqsa Storm operation began. Regardless of the outcome of the war in Gaza and how and when it will end, Netanyahu’s political life will also end after that; this is the truth that the reports and developments related to the scene of “politics and power” in the Zionist regime predict.

In this regard, surveys conducted in the occupied territories in the past month indicate an increase in the hatred of parties and public opinion towards Netanyahu and his cabinet, the most important of which are mentioned as follows:

One, Israel’s Channel 12 TV recently conducted a poll in which Gantz will win the election as Netanyahu’s rival and prime minister-elect with many votes over Netanyahu.

Two, Israel’s Channel 13 has published the result of a poll showing that 76 percent of the participants approved that Netanyahu should resign from his position immediately after the end of the war.

Three, according to the results of the “Maariv newspaper” survey, if the Knesset elections are held now, the Likud party led by Netanyahu will only be able to win 18 seats compared to the 32 seats it won during the November 2022 elections. At the same time, the opposition parties will win 79 seats.

Four, according to the results of a poll by “Yedioth Ahronoth” newspaper, 66 percent of the participants want Benjamin Netanyahu to step down as prime minister. According to 75 percent of the participants, Netanyahu is to blame for the security gap that occurred during the Al-Aqsa Storm operation against Israel and should step down.

Meanwhile, the calls within the Zionist regime for Netanyahu to step down from power are increasing to such an extent that “Yair Lapid,” the leader of the cabinet opposition, has stated for the umpteenth time in his speech in the Zionist regime’s parliament that the disaster of October 7 is registered with the name of Netanyahu and he has lost the trust of the security apparatus and the people of Israel; therefore, he should only do the right thing and step down from power.

In addition, internal protests in the occupied territories have also increased to such an extent that in addition to public opinion, the families of Zionist prisoners have only one request by holding various gatherings, including in front of Netanyahu’s house, and that is “the release of the prisoners and removal of Netanyahu from power.”

In most of the political circles, media, and public opinion inside and outside of the Zionist regime, there is a significant agreement on the opinion that Benjamin Netanyahu should no longer remain as the prime minister of the Zionist regime and should step down from power.

It is worth pondering that the US administration no longer wishes to continue Netanyahu’s political life, and Biden has expressed it implicitly and explicitly several times. In the last remarks of US President Biden, who was speaking to the crowd of donors to the election campaign, he said Israel is losing support due to the indiscriminate bombing of Gaza, and Netanyahu must change his hardline cabinet.

Of course, it should be noted that Biden’s criticism of Netanyahu does not contradict the White House’s support for the Zionist regime; the security, existence, and survival of the Zionist regime is the “red line” of all the administrations in the United States. The US distinguishes between supporting the existence of the Zionist regime and supporting the interests of a particular faction or person within the Zionist regime. Therefore, if it considers Netanyahu and his performance as a cause or a threat to the existence of the Zionist regime, it will definitely not hide its concerns in this regard.

In any case, the Al-Aqsa Storm operation and its related developments can be seen as a factor in “ending Netanyahu’s political life.” Netanyahu’s insistence, who is the most power-hungry prime minister of all periods in the Zionist regime, on the continuation of the war and the killing of Palestinians is also evaluated in the sense that he is looking for “building gains” from this war, not for the national interests of the Zionist regime, but primarily for his own political survival.

Netanyahu, who is an expert in technical, tactical, and psychological games, knows very well that on the day after the end of the war, he should be responsive to the events that took place and should withdraw from the scene of politics and power of the Zionist regime.

The Wall Street Journal recently quoted sources in the Likud party headed by Netanyahu and wrote that members of that party believe that the war and crisis in the Gaza Strip will end Netanyahu’s political life. According to the report, members of Netanyahu’s party believe that he is now only continuing the war in the Gaza Strip for his political survival in the Zionist regime. Still, he will not remain in power for a long time.

In the past weeks, Haaretz newspaper published an article written by Nehemia Strassler, which read that the continuation of Netanyahu’s leadership over the Zionist regime and its army in the current war is not for the sake of the regime itself but for his own personal deliverance. All diplomatic measures are done for one purpose only, and that is to stay in power, and this issue will never allow the Zionist regime to win the war; therefore, Netanyahu must go.

Therefore, Netanyahu’s madness in killing the Palestinian people is an attempt to “save his political future”; this is while he will be the “real loser” of the war with any scenario and perspective.

The losses and damage of the Zionist regime in the recent war are dozens of times more than the losses and damage of the regime in the war in the war in October 1973. This is while Golda Meir, the then prime minister of the Zionist regime, who was more powerful and more significant than Netanyahu, was removed from power after the end of the war, despite the subsequent advances in the Yom Kippur war against Syria and Egypt. The same fate of Golda Meir awaits Netanyahu today.

Goals of Blinken’s Recent Trip to Saudi Arabia

Strategic Council Online—Interview: A researcher of Saudi affairs said that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived in Riyadh recently during a regional trip and had consultations with the Riyadh officials. It seems that one of the items on the agenda between Saudi Arabia and America, in addition to the Gaza war, is the process of normalizing relations between the Israeli regime and the Arab kingdom.

Dr. Kharrazi's response to the new US position on Iran's nuclear program:
It Was America That Abandoned Nuclear Diplomacy/ Iran Also Considers Diplomacy the Best Approach

Strategic Council Online: The President of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations stated: “The US State Department spokesperson, after my interview with Al Jazeera, reiterated their past remarks, stating that they won’t allow Iran to build nuclear weapons, but ultimately said diplomacy is the best approach. Yes, we too prefer diplomacy since based on the Fatwa of our Supreme Leader are not for nuclear weapons; rather, we are advocates of diplomacy to make the Middle East a nuclear-free region. But, in case the Israeli regime threatens us with nuclear weapons, we surely cannot sit idle and wait for permission from others.”

Europe’s Confusion in Securing Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea

Strategic Council Online – Opinion: The strategic Strait of Bab al-Mandab and the Red Sea have recently faced serious problems and crises due to the Gaza war. This is because of the protectionist approach of the Yemeni army forces toward Palestine, which, since the beginning of the Israeli regime’s attacks on the Gaza Strip, has included attacks on ships bound for or from the origin of the regime in the Red Sea.
They said they will continue their attacks until the Israeli regime’s military aggression in the Gaza Strip ends. The United States, as the most important supporter of the Israeli regime, was the first country to respond to this policy of Yemeni army forces and tried to form a global coalition to counter these attacks under the cover of supporting freedom of navigation, which, of course, failed because of conflicts of interests of Western countries and ended in the actions of the US and British attacks on positions in Yemen. Of course, although European countries were not seriously involved in the American coalition, they have numerous and complex interests in this inflammatory, and as a result, have adopted a particular and independent approach.

The prospect of Possible Departure of Hamas Political Office from Qatar

Strategic Council Online – Interview: An expert on regional issues said Qatari authorities will definitely resist Western pressure to expel Hamas leaders from their territory, and probably the United States will not move towards a zero-hundred equation in this regard because if the Hamas leaders remain in Qatar, which is an ally of the United States, is better than moving to a country outside the power of the United States to exert pressure.

Messages and Consequences of Student Protests in the United States

Strategic Council Online – Opinion: Student protests in America take on new dimensions every day.
Because the university enjoys higher public trust and social capital than other civil and social institutions and is, therefore, more effective, the current protests put the U.S. government in a “difficult situation” that is clear in the statements of current and former U.S. officials.
