Saudi-West Coalition Concerned about Ansarollah’s Military Advances

Strategic Council Online - Without considering the ground realities in Yemen and without taking into account common concerns of Riyadh and Western capitals, it is not possible to understand the reasons for the change in propaganda and declared positions of Washington officials and their so-called peaceful movements in Yemen. Jafar Qanadbashi – expert on the Middle East affairs

Following the diplomatic moves of the US and UK governments in recent weeks to end the six-year war in Yemen, the UN Security Council issued a statement calling for an immediate end to the fighting and a ceasefire in that country; a statement that, from the point of view of political experts, should not be seen as the result of a change in the practical policies of Western governments towards the war in Yemen, but its issuance stems from other necessities.

Meanwhile, Western-affiliated media outlets have sought to make the sum of those so-called peaceful diplomatic moves over the six-year war in Yemen the result of the coming to power of the Democrats in the United States and the official announcement of Joe Biden’s regional policies and do not mention the trend that has prevailed in the Yemeni military conflict in recent months, which has caused them great concern. However, there are numerous signs and evidences that indicate a direct connection between the current positions and movements of Western governments and the realities on the ground on the military front. Because, the decisive advance of the Yemeni army and people’s forces in the strategic and oil-rich province of Ma’rib and the disastrous defeats of the invading Saudi forces and mercenaries on this front is not a small event not to be taken into account in the calculations of Western governments; a reality that has caused severe concern of the Riyadh authorities and by transmitting those concerns to the West, has caused reactions in Washington, London and some other European capitals. Of course, the clearest sign of this is the West’s failure to put an end to the Saudi coalition’s military aggression against Yemen, and more importantly, their failure to try to lift the economic blockade of the country, and this is a clearer sign that reveals propaganda positions of Washington and other western countries.

In any case, without considering the ground realities in Yemen and without taking into account common concerns of Riyadh and Western capitals, it is not possible to understand the reasons for the change in propaganda and declared positions of Washington officials and their so-called peaceful movements. About a month and a half ago, the US president stressed at the State Department that his administration, in line with putting an end to the war, intends to stop supporting the Saudi coalition’s offensive in the Yemen war and this Biden’s statement were the same remarks that never materialized in practice.

Overall, it should be said that the months-long process dominating over the fighting in the key Province of Ma’rib and standing of the oil-rich province on the verge of full liberation have not only severely disturbed the Saudi aggressor coalition and its Western supporters, but also exposed the important fact that the six-year military invasion of Yemen is over, and in the meantime, the Western world and the reactionaries in the region are forced to pursue fraudulent policies towards the country so that they might be able to use the slogan of ending the war and underlining the need for a ceasefire, to prevent the Yemeni army and people’s forces from further progress and gaining the final glorious victory.

Therefore, on the one hand, they hope that their slogan of the necessity of establishing ceasefire, will cause political and propaganda pressures to prevent the Yemeni army and people’s forces from completely dominating Ma’rib Province and thus complete the liberation of this strategic province, and on the other hand, they are trying to make new arrangements in order to continue the provocations inside Yemen for many more years. As such that deception and persuasion of Turkey to carry out military activities in Yemen is among such arrangements, which provides an opportunity to free the Saudi military and its mercenaries from the clutches of the powerful Yemeni defense forces.

Turkey, based on Erdogan’s ambitious policies and following the military failures to seize a monopoly on Libya’s oil resources, is now looking for a way to free itself from the political and propaganda impasse, and therefore now regardless of the deceptive plans of the West and the reaction in the region in designing which the Zionists usually have a serious role, is heading towards a dangerous swamp.
