Prospects, Consequences of Escalation of PIR Operations in West Bank

Strategic Council Online - Opinion: The West Bank has become the “gravity center” of the developments in occupied Palestine. Barsam Mohammadi – Expert on regional affairs

Since the most extreme cabinet in the history of the Zionist regime came to power, every day, we witness new dimensions and trends of resistance in that region, which are more prominent and different from the past in terms of “quantity” and “quality.”

From a “quantitative” point of view, resistance groups have “intensified operations” in the West Bank in response to the crimes of the Zionist regime. From 2022 until now, it is considered the deadliest period recorded for the Zionists in the West Bank since the end of the second Palestinian Intifada in 2005.

For example, in the first half of the current year, there were 167 shootings at Zionist targets in the West Bank. This is while there were 53 shootings in that area during the same period last year. The number of “martyrdom operations” has increased so much that it reaches 15 cases in some days. No one is more aware of the real consequences of carrying out such a volume of daily operations than the Zionists themselves!

From the “qualitative” point of view, we are witnessing the use of new operational methods and tactics by the resistance groups, which inflict the most losses and casualties on the Zionist regime with the least cost. For example, for the first time in recent weeks, the Palestinian Mujahideen have tried to use “explosive traps” against the Zionist military and armored vehicles, which is somehow reminiscent of the operation to liberate South Lebanon. Explosive packages were used for the first time in the operation to liberate South Lebanon by Hezbollah.

This is in addition to firing rockets from different places, including the Jenin camp, resulting in several spy drones being shot down! Firing rockets from Jenin, which has been under severe economic and military siege for years, was an important development and contained “very important messages” for the Zionist regime!

Intensification of the operations of the Islamic Resistance groups definitely has “significant consequences” for the Zionist regime and the Palestinian Resistance groups, some of the most important of which are as follows:

One; perhaps the most important consequence of the current developments in the West Bank, which the intensification of Islamic Resistance operations has accompanied, is its dual function; in the sense that the aforementioned developments are an “existential threat” for the Zionist regime, which has disrupted a major part of the “computational system” of the regime’s military, security and political institutions, and according to the acknowledgments of the current and former heads of Israel’s intelligence agency, the regime’s structure has faced the danger of “collapse.” On the other hand, for the Palestinian Islamic Resistance (PIR), it is a “hopeful” and “liberating” point. Today, the West Bank is the biggest scene of “showing power,” showing the strategic deterrence and cohesion of the Palestinian Resistance groups, unprecedented in the past 75 years.

Two; consolidation of “unity of the field” is the next consequence of the recent developments in the West Bank. Unity of the field, at the same time, has accelerated and facilitated the process of advancing resistance strategies in the West Bank, intensifying the operations of united Palestinian groups, and the resulting achievements have strengthened and stabilized the idea of “unity of the field” in Palestine.

Since 2022, when the conflict in the West Bank has intensified, Islamic Resistance groups from different factions started to cooperate and form a coalition under a single command. In this sense, the Islamic Resistance groups today are in a favorable situation regarding “field and operational unity.” There is no news of the former factions that sometimes harmed the real cause of Palestine and the process of anti-Zionist struggles, and the differences have been put aside.

Three; an increase in the level of “vulnerability” of the Zionist regime and its “decrease in deterrence power” is the next consequence of recent developments. In the past two years, the deterrence power of the Zionist regime has found an inverse relationship with the process of field developments in the West Bank. Even the Zionists have realized that the more the situation on the ground in the West Bank becomes tense, the more vulnerable the regime will become; as Amos Yadlin, the former head of Israel’s military intelligence department (Aman), has acknowledged in a talk with the Zionist regime’s channel 12.

Four; due to the intensification of the operations of the Resistance groups in the West Bank, the Zionist regime is practically in a state of “passivity” and “desperation” and has lost its initiative and activism. It is interesting that the so-called “Operation Breakwater”, which the Zionist regime started in March 2023, to get rid of the current situation in the West Bank and conducts attacks on the West Bank almost daily, has had completely opposite results!

Prospect

The West Bank is currently the most “active” and “important” front against the Zionist regime. The origin of every martyrdom operation in occupied territories is in the West Bank, especially in the cities of Jenin and Nablus.

Turning the West Bank into a center of resistance in occupied Palestine and “arming and equipping” it is one of the important and strategic goals of the Islamic Resistance Front in Palestine and outside it, which has been achieved to a large extent today and is also approved and emphasized by the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution raised this point of view for the first time on July 23, 2014.

Today, the West Bank has become a “decisive axis” in Palestine and the region. This is not an analysis, but a reality based on the field, intelligence, security, political, etc. data, which determines the “ultimate fate” of the battle between Palestine and the Zionist regime in the West Bank. This region, which is the “strategic depth” of the Islamic Resistance Front in the confrontation with the Zionists, will play a key role in destroying the fake Israeli regime.

The presence and concentration of more than 70 percent of the military and security forces of the Zionist regime in the West Bank, which constitutes only 20 percent of the territory of occupied Palestine, is a testimony to the importance and vital role of this region in the future developments related to Palestine. This is why the Zionist regime seeks to control the situation in the West Bank through software and hardware methods, including cognitive warfare, settlement development, planning military operations, and attacks. This is despite the fact that, contrary to the targeted goals and efforts of the Zionists, the pulse of the developments in the West Bank is in the hands of the Palestinians.

It Was America That Abandoned Nuclear Diplomacy/ Iran Also Considers Diplomacy the Best Approach

Strategic Council Online: The President of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations stated: “The US State Department spokesperson, after my interview with Al Jazeera, reiterated their past remarks, stating that they won’t allow Iran to build nuclear weapons, but ultimately said diplomacy is the best approach. Yes, we too prefer diplomacy since based on the Fatwa of our Supreme Leader are not for nuclear weapons; rather, we are advocates of diplomacy to make the Middle East a nuclear-free region. But, in case the Israeli regime threatens us with nuclear weapons, we surely cannot sit idle and wait for permission from others.”

Europe’s Confusion in Securing Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea

Strategic Council Online – Opinion: The strategic Strait of Bab al-Mandab and the Red Sea have recently faced serious problems and crises due to the Gaza war. This is because of the protectionist approach of the Yemeni army forces toward Palestine, which, since the beginning of the Israeli regime’s attacks on the Gaza Strip, has included attacks on ships bound for or from the origin of the regime in the Red Sea.
They said they will continue their attacks until the Israeli regime’s military aggression in the Gaza Strip ends. The United States, as the most important supporter of the Israeli regime, was the first country to respond to this policy of Yemeni army forces and tried to form a global coalition to counter these attacks under the cover of supporting freedom of navigation, which, of course, failed because of conflicts of interests of Western countries and ended in the actions of the US and British attacks on positions in Yemen. Of course, although European countries were not seriously involved in the American coalition, they have numerous and complex interests in this inflammatory, and as a result, have adopted a particular and independent approach.
