Continuation of Martyr Soleimani’s Strategy in the Region, Its Consequences

2022/01/04 | Note, political, top news

Strategic Council Online - Opinion: Martyr Soleimani was considered a charismatic, multifaceted and influential figure at the national, regional and international levels. Barsam Mohammadi – Expert on regional affairs

Martyr Soleimani was an efficient and experienced actor not only in the “field” but also in “diplomacy” who played an important role in facilitating and accelerating the advancement of the national interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran and strengthening the Islamic Resistance Front, as well as strengthening peace, stability and security in the region.

Areas of Martyr Soleimani’s role playing

During the 22 years of Command of Qods Force, Martyr Soleimani made utmost efforts to achieve a “new Islamic civilization”. “Promoting the position of the Islamic world” in the regional and international equations, advancing the ideal of “liberating Holy Qods and creating the credibility of the inevitable defeat of the Zionists”, “successful struggle against ISIS and other terrorist groups, as well as the Takfiri and violent currents” and “forming the unified, cohesive and efficient transnational front of the Resistance” are the four important areas that, as a result of the measures of Martyr Soleimani, have brought great achievements before the nations of the region and the Muslims, the effects and results of which, despite their absence, are still visible.

The field, political, military, and security developments in the region over the past two years indicate that, contrary to preconceived calculations, the Americans and the Zionists failed to achieve the targets they sought through the assassination of Sardar Soleimani.

Consequences of assassination of General Soleimani

The developments that have taken place in the region over the past two years clearly show that the Islamic Resistance Front, of which Martyr Soleimani was the “main architect”, is increasingly moving towards strategic achievements.

Failure of US policy to create “No-Resistance Zone”

Transformation of West Asia into a “zone without Resistance against the Zionist regime”, which was one of the targets of the assassination of Sardar Soleimani, has failed today. The events of the past two years show that despite the important measures of the United States and the Zionist regime, such as the disclosure of the regime’s diplomatic relations with some reactionary Arab regimes, the approach of the Resistance to the Qods usurper regime has been intensified in terms of security and strategy. Just as the all-round and asymmetric deterrent power that the Islamic Resistance groups in Palestine and Lebanon have today against the Zionist regime cannot be compared to a few years ago.

Acceleration of process of “expelling the US from Iraq and the region”

The expulsion of the Americans from Iraq and the region was one of Martyr Soleimani’s major concerns in the last months of his life. With his martyrdom, the plan to expel the Americans from Iraq not only did not stop, but also became a widespread and legal demand. Afghanistan is also a significant example that the role of Martyr Soleimani in accelerating the US escape from that country cannot be ignored.

Victories of the Resistance forces in Yemen

Formation of a Resistance government in Yemen was one of the dreams of Martyr Soleimani. The successes that Ansarollah has achieved in the past two years in both the field and political arena of Yemen, and have grounded the Saudi coalition, are of considerable strategic importance.

Ansarollah and the Yemeni People’s Committees are now approaching the final stages of operation “Spring of Victory” that are not long before the full liberation of Ma’rib, which will determine the final fate of the Yemen war. Ansarollah currently owns more than two-thirds of Yemen’s habitable lands and strategic areas.

Pioneer of the Resistance in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon

In Syria, Iraq and Lebanon, too, the precious legacy of Martyr Soleimani in the field of Islamic Resistance, including facilitating the entry of Resistance groups into political and governing processes, is significant. Syria and its political system have been re-established after 10 years, going through difficult stages of crisis. In Iraq, the Islamic discourse and Resistance groups continue to lead the way in politics and power. In Lebanon, too, the Islamic Resistance has become a significant political, security and economic weight in the internal structure and public opinion more than ever, and has been able to provide significant assistance in resolving the economic crisis of the country, including supply of fuel, which is Lebanon’s most vital need.

Strengthening Iran’s deterrent power

Strengthening the foundations of the deterrent power of the Islamic Republic of Iran is another consequence of the continuation of the strategy of Martyr Soleimani. If we consider “missile” as the most important and effective tool and element of the Islamic Republic’s deterrent power, today more than ever, its direct and indirect use has been provided to confront regional and trans-regional enemies.

Also, in the area of regional deterrent power, which means increasing the retaliatory power of Islamic Resistance groups in the region, we are in an outstanding position. Today, the balance of the Zionist regime’s constant fear of the reciprocal response of Islamic Resistance groups in Palestine and Lebanon, if they commit aggression against Iran, is at its peak.

In addition to hard deterrence, the soft deterrent power of the Islamic Republic has been stabilized and consolidated after the assassination of Martyr Soleimani. It is worth mentioning that Martyr Soleimani has played an effective role in developing and strengthening the soft deterrent capabilities of the Islamic Republic in the region.

Concluding remarks

Strategies pursued by Martyr Soleimani as the Commander of the Qods Force of the IRGC in the region and the Islamic world, not only did not stop with his martyrdom, but are followed with double motivation and strong will in the new period of commanding the Qods Force and with the cooperation and synergy of other relevant organisations. Contrary to the propaganda of some American political circles and media, the Qods Force is at the peak of efficiency, power and effectiveness today.

Martyr Imad Mughniyeh has a thought-provoking sentence that says ‘the main power in the Axis of Resistance is the “spiritual power” and the rest of the elements of power are stemmed from it. According to him, what has given power and authority to the Islamic Resistance Front and given it the ability to influence strategically and successfully in complex strategic and geopolitical equations stems from the faith, inner beliefs and firm beliefs that are manifested in the management body and command elements of this front. The Islamic Resistance does not depend on a person whose removal destroys the structure.

It Was America That Abandoned Nuclear Diplomacy/ Iran Also Considers Diplomacy the Best Approach

Strategic Council Online: The President of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations stated: “The US State Department spokesperson, after my interview with Al Jazeera, reiterated their past remarks, stating that they won’t allow Iran to build nuclear weapons, but ultimately said diplomacy is the best approach. Yes, we too prefer diplomacy since based on the Fatwa of our Supreme Leader are not for nuclear weapons; rather, we are advocates of diplomacy to make the Middle East a nuclear-free region. But, in case the Israeli regime threatens us with nuclear weapons, we surely cannot sit idle and wait for permission from others.”

Europe’s Confusion in Securing Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea

Strategic Council Online – Opinion: The strategic Strait of Bab al-Mandab and the Red Sea have recently faced serious problems and crises due to the Gaza war. This is because of the protectionist approach of the Yemeni army forces toward Palestine, which, since the beginning of the Israeli regime’s attacks on the Gaza Strip, has included attacks on ships bound for or from the origin of the regime in the Red Sea.
They said they will continue their attacks until the Israeli regime’s military aggression in the Gaza Strip ends. The United States, as the most important supporter of the Israeli regime, was the first country to respond to this policy of Yemeni army forces and tried to form a global coalition to counter these attacks under the cover of supporting freedom of navigation, which, of course, failed because of conflicts of interests of Western countries and ended in the actions of the US and British attacks on positions in Yemen. Of course, although European countries were not seriously involved in the American coalition, they have numerous and complex interests in this inflammatory, and as a result, have adopted a particular and independent approach.

Strategic Council Online – Opinion: Student protests in America take on new dimensions every day.
Because the university enjoys higher public trust and social capital than other civil and social institutions and is, therefore, more effective, the current protests put the U.S. government in a “difficult situation” that is clear in the statements of current and former U.S. officials.
