In this meeting, the parties discussed the latest developments in West Asia at the international and regional levels and the newest state of bilateral relations.

Considering Iran-Syria relations as strategic, the two sides expressed satisfaction with the level of coordination between the two countries. They also called for more efforts by the economic sectors in the two countries to improve the level of economic cooperation.

.Explaining the latest status of Iran’s negotiations with the countries of the region, Dr. Kharazi considered the adoption of the path of interaction and cooperation and not relying on foreign powers to be the only solution to regional crises and said that Iran would continue its constructive dialogues with the countries of the region. Mr. Faisal Meqdad also expressed satisfaction with expanding Iran’s relations with Saudi Arabia and other Persian Gulf countries. He considered it beneficial to the region’s stability. Dr. Kharazi arrived in Syria on Sunday, met with the country’s Endowment Minister, and gave a speech today at the Assad National Library with more than 170 academics and diplomats.
