Strategic Council Online – Interview: An expert of the Middle East issues commented on the positive assessment of Faisal Bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia about the security and political agreement between Arab regimes and the Zionist regime called Abraham Agreement and said:” the remarks received tough reaction of Palestinian combatant movements; because Palestine nation considers the Agreement as a betrayal to the Palestinian Cause”.

Hassan Haanizadeh in an interview with the site of Strategic Council on Foreign Relations referred to Faisal Bin Farhan remarks in his interview with Germany News Agency in which he claimed that Abraham Agreement is considered as a very positive development in the region’s peace process and paves the ground for coexistence between Arabs and the Zionist regime. He continued:” after the signing of Abraham Agreement among some Arab countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) and the Zionist regime, relations among them were made public to the extent that Isaac Herzog, president and Naftali Bennet prime minister of the Zionist regime paid a visit to UAE and Bahrain and inaugurated the security offices of the regime in the two countries”.

Having stressed on the point that normalization of relations between the Zionist regime and UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco is an effort made by the Zionist regime for termite infestation in Islamic countries and exploiting the potential of these countries aiming at harming the Palestinian Cause and Axis of Resistance, he said:” although Saudi Arabia has not disclosed its relations with the Zionist regime but according to media reports, Mohammad Bin Salman, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia has visited the occupied territories a couple of times within the past three years and met with the authorities of the Zionist regime”.

The expert explained:” because of his political isolation and failure of his policies in war with Yemeni people, Mohammad Bin Salman tried to win the U.S. support to Saudi Arabian adventurism in the region through approaching the Israeli regime and the Zionist lobby. That’s why the Abraham Agreement which is considered as the basis of security, political and military cooperation of Arab states of the Persian Gulf region and the Zionist regime is one of the most dangerous compromise plans between Arabs and the Zionist regime”.

He continued:” although the details of the Abraham Plan have not been disclosed yet, but with signing the Agreement, reactionary regimes of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council have paved the ground for security and military presence of the Zionist regime in the Persian Gulf”.

According to Haanizadeh in the course of the recent visit of Naftali Bennet prime minister of the Zionist regime to Bahrain, Mossad Bureau in Manama was opened aiming at intelligence cooperation between Manama and Tel Aviv. This can be considered as a serious threat against anti-Zionist countries of the region including Iran”.

The expert of the Middle East issue also added:” in the course of the visit of president of the Zionist regime to Abu Dhabi Bureau for Trade Relations was opened to exchange (and promote) trade between UAE and the regime. Therefore, the Zionist regime has set a long term plan to promote the trade volume with the Persian Gulf countries”.

Haanizadeh stated:” according to the New Middle East Plan which was prepared by Shimon Perez, former president of the Zionist regime, it is supposed that after establishment of political relations between the state members of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council and the Zionist regime, the trade volume of these countries with the Israeli regime will reach the $ 70 billion target by 2035”.

He added:” although it is an ambitious plan to some extent, but in view of the compromise of the Arab states with the regime and regional as well as global developments, it seems that some other Arab states of the Persian Gulf region, under the U.S. pressure, will take steps towards economic, security and military cooperation with the Zionist regime”.

Having commented on the recent remarks made by the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia on the importance of Abraham Agreement Haanizadeh also said:” the remarks show that Saudi Arabia is trying to establish relations with the Zionist regime in near future, and it should assume the responsibility of its consequences”.

The expert of the Middle East issues explained:” Saudi Arabia was supposed to make public its relations with the Zionist regime in 2020 because of the pressure of Donald Trump, the former U.S. president, but his failure in presidential election of 2020 from one side and concern about its negative consequences from the other side, the Saudi Arabia plan has not become operational for the time being”.

Having referred to the point that for the first time during the past 70 years, Saudi Arabia in a measure beyond the Arab League framework, opened its skies to the Zionist regime’s planes, he said:” the measure can be considered as an introduction to gradual commencement of political and security cooperation between Riyadh and Tel Aviv”.

Haanizadeh continued to say:” regardless of expansionist policies of the Zionist regime, the aforementioned Arab states have ignored the right of the Palestinian nation to have an independent country with Beitol Moggaddass as its capital and they have taken steps to compromise”.

The expert ultimately said:” the recent remarks of the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia and calling the relations of Arabs and the Zionist regime as positive is made while the regime continues to develop settlements in 1967 lands and also brutal suppression of the people of Ghaza”.
