Online Strategic Council - Interview: An expert on West Asian issues stated: Trump's foreign policy in West Asia began with threats, humiliation, and a show of power, but ultimately ended in failure and strengthened the position of the Resistance Axis.

Hossein Kan’ani Moghaddam, in an interview with the website of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, stated: “With the resumption of the Israeli regime’s crimes in Gaza, Trump’s foreign policies completely failed.”
He added: “At the recent Sharm El-Sheikh summit, a humiliating spectacle was staged, and the leaders of Islamic, Arab, and some European countries were practically ridiculed.”
He recalled: “These events showed that the United States used threats and humiliation to exert influence instead of logical solutions.”
Kan’ani Moghaddam explained: “The resistance in the region has reached a level of maturity where none of the demonstrative actions could disarm it or force it to retreat.”
He added: “Trump’s policies resemble gambling more than strategic regional management.”
Referring to the domestic and regional consequences of U.S. policies, he said: “The Zionist regime was facing political and social crises and, by relying on Trump’s plan for Gaza, tried to prevent its political collapse.”
According to Kan’ani Moghaddam, “The pressures on the Resistance Axis, including conflict with Hezbollah, confrontation with Hamas, and escalating tensions in the West Bank, revealed the strategic weakness of the Zionist regime.”
The West Asia expert emphasized: “The people and cabinet of the Israeli regime were worried about internal collapse, and these very concerns showed that the U.S. policy for ordering the region has failed.”
He added: “Washington’s effort to impose a new order based on threats and a show of power not only failed but also consolidated the unity of the Resistance Axis.”
He said: “Trump’s foreign policy in West Asia, which relied on humiliation, political gambling, and spectacle, made regional equations more complex and unstable.”

Escalation of Crisis: The Outcome of Trump’s Peace Plan
Kan’ani Moghaddam, regarding Trump’s peace plan to end the Gaza war, said: “The recent agreement was an attempt to shape the order desired by the West.”
He added: “Trump set his conditions, and the Zionist regime accepted them; but the ceasefire immediately collapsed, and the Israeli regime resumed its attacks on Gaza.”
He continued: “The continuation of aggressions in Lebanon and Gaza after the Trump agreement showed that his plan led not to peace but to an escalation of the conflict.”
He recalled: “This agreement practically saved Netanyahu politically and yielded no achievements for the Palestinian cause.”
Kan’ani Moghaddam said: “The Zionist regime, relying on Trump’s plan, wanted to overcome its internal crisis and reduce pressure from opponents.”
He added: “The conflict with Hezbollah, confrontation with Hamas, and unrest in the West Bank represented the multi-faceted crises of the Israeli regime, which continue.”
He clarified: “The New York Times has warned that the Israeli regime might not implement the agreement.”
The West Asia expert stated: “If the current trend continues with unjust conditions, the resistance will enter a new operational phase.”
He added: “The resistance never retreated from its positions, and even the artificial breathing space that America created for the Israeli regime could not reduce the power of the Resistance Axis.”
According to Kan’ani Moghaddam, “This trend revealed the failure of America and the Israeli regime in the region and showed that no pressure or imposed agreement can eliminate the will of the resistance.”
Kan’ani Moghaddam, regarding Iran’s response to U.S. demonstrative policies, said: “Iran must prepare itself to face any scenario on three levels: At the first level, in psychological warfare and soft war, an aggressive approach must be adopted, moving beyond a purely defensive posture.”
He explained: “At the second level, the people and the government must be prepared to respond under any circumstances so that external pressures are met with intelligent management.”
Emphasizing the coordination among diplomacy, deterrence, and popular support, he said: “At the third level, to confront compulsory negotiations, our country’s military, diplomatic, and media readiness must be at its highest level.”
Kan’ani Moghaddam said: “The spectacle of foreign powers should not be answered with an emotional reaction; rather, it requires precise planning and calculated action.”
He noted: “Iran, by using active diplomacy and deterrent capability, has maintained its path and has not allowed the imposed policies of America to succeed.”
The West Asia expert, referring to the necessity of regional cooperation, stated: “The region is moving towards convergence, and common pacts among Islamic countries should be formed.”
He added: “This trend will likely move towards joint action and not merely formal peace, and it can strengthen the position of the Resistance Axis.”
Kan’ani Moghaddam, on the importance of internal cohesion, said: “Popular support and national unity are the most important backing for the Iranian government against external pressures.”
He continued: “Calculated operations of the resistance and intelligent diplomacy can steer regional equations towards just peace and sustainable stability.”
He finally emphasized: “Iran’s strategy should be a combination of deterrence, active diplomacy, and strengthening internal legitimacy to be able to curb external pressures and guarantee regional security.”
Kan’ani Moghaddam clarified: “Iran will never yield to pressure or forced negotiations and will continue its path with precise planning and reliance on national interests.”
