SCFR‘s Statement Condemning the Resumption of Attacks by the Zionist Regime on Gaza

Strategic Council Online: The Strategic Council on Foreign Relations (SCFR), in a statement, condemned the violation of the ceasefire, the resumption of attacks by the Zionist regime on Gaza, and the massacre of civilians while also criticizing the inaction of Islamic countries in confronting this criminal regime.

What follows is the full text of this statement, which begins with verse 12 of Surah At-Tawbah:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

“And if they break their oaths after their covenant and attack your religion, then fight the leaders of disbelief, for surely their oaths are nothing to them, so that they may desist.” (Verse 12 – Surah At-Tawbah)

What is happening today in Gaza following the recent ceasefire is yet another testament to the treacherous nature of the occupying regime. Indeed, even at the time of the ceasefire agreement, based on the regime’s history of breaking covenants, many analysts predicted that Netanyahu would resume the war after the end of the first phase of the ceasefire. Therefore, the violation of the ceasefire by the Israeli regime is not surprising, but was predictable.

What is surprising, however, is the dominance of the law of the jungle in international relations and the ineffectiveness of international regulations and organizations. Powerful countries show no regard for international covenants and act recklessly according to their own interests. For instance, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, disregarding international law, has supported the expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza and even considers it as his own property. He mocks the International Criminal Court’s ruling against Netanyahu and prioritizes the use of force over the just resolution of international problems.

They not only mock international laws but also adhere to no moral values. When the criminal Israeli regime, without prior warning, bombs 100 locations in Gaza in the middle of the night within a single minute, killing many women and children who were trusting in the ceasefire and peacefully asleep, and continuing its aggressions in the following days, it undoubtedly believes in no moral principles and considers force as the sole criterion for its actions.

It is regrettable that Islamic countries, in the face of the ongoing blatant crimes of the genocidal Israeli regime, merely issue ineffective statements. Had they stood against the aggressions of the occupying regime, it would not have been able to trample all moral principles and international regulations to such an extent, enjoying the support of the West. At the very least, if the Islamic countries were collectively committed to imposing economic sanctions on the Israeli regime and prevented some regional governments from supplying fuel to the war machine of this regime and continuing trade with this bloodthirsty and covenant-breaking regime, they might have been able somewhat to curb its crimes against the oppressed Palestinian people.

The Strategic Council on Foreign Relations extends its condolences to the grieving Palestinian families who have lost their loved ones in this nighttime operation and its continuation until today. It hopes that the resistance of Palestinian people would ultimately triumph over the criminal Israeli regime.
