Dr Kamal Kharrazi met the head of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China, Song Tao, in his trip to China, and discussed various fields of Iran-China cooperation.
‘The World is experiencing unprecedented changes. As Iran and China are both influential in their region, it should be considered that how the two countries can work together to confront the existing risks and challenges’, Song Tao said based on the historical and civilizational record of Iran and China.
‘It is necessary that we have an eastern proposal so that those countries which don’t have sufficient historical record, wouldn’t be able to impose their political system on others and claim the world management’ he said.
In this meeting, Dr Kharrazi pointed to good cooperation between two countries and based on Tao’s statement said: There is huge potential for expanding Iran-China regional cooperation.
He also pointed to Chabahar port development and it’s connection to Gwadar port and from Chabahar to the west of Iran and said: this cooperation can contribute to Iraq and Syria reconstruction and be continued to Mediterrane.
Both sides also discussed energy transfer whether to the east via Peace Pipeline or to the west of Iran via Iraq and Syria. Both sides also discussed the continuation of purchasing Iran’s oil, preserving JCPOA, and the necessity of 4+1 fulfilling their obligations based on this deal.
Dr Kharrazi also had a meeting with the deputy of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China. In this meeting, both sides emphasized the preparation of a long-term proposal for bilateral cooperation and discussed the prospects of the future of the two countries relations. It was decided that the discussions continue in Tehran and Beijing till reaching the desired result.
