Dr. Kamal Kharrazi in his visit to Germany met Chairman of Bundestag’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, Norbert Röttgen. Both sides discussed regional affairs, bilateral relations and Germany’s and Europe’s role in preserving JCPOA.
Röttgen with a hint to the inception of colonialism in the Middle East and also the beginning of Palestinian-Israeli conflict stated that Middle East has never been unstable like today, and hatred is so vast among countries in the region. So it’s necessary for countries in the region to propose initiatives and approaches to control the situation, Röttgen said.
“Foreign intervention to destabilize the countries, on the one hand, and US and Zionist regime bulling behavior towards Palestinians, on the other hand, are main destabilizing factors of Middle East. Iran has tried to have a role in creating stability, although facing crises in its neighborhood, we have succeeded to maintain our security”, answered Dr. Kharrazi.
Strategic Council on Foreign Relations president emphasized that countries in the region should have dialogue without foreign intervention. “Iran is ready for real and practical dialogue with her neighbors, and thinks that if there exist good will, then these dialogues can yield to result; and of course Europe can have a positive role in contribution to these contacts”, he said.
On European commitment to JCPOA, Röttgen said that Europe is trying to propose executive mechanisms of its proposed package to Iran.
