Strategic Council on Foreign Relations President, Dr. Kamal Kharrazi, in his visit to Germany meets Joschka Fischer, politician of The Greens and Germany’s ex-foreign affairs minister.
In this meeting, Middle East issues, US withdrawal from JCPOA and EU’s role in preserving the nuclear deal, and also difficulties which policies of US president, Donald Trump have caused for Europe, were discussed.
“Iran’s commitment to JCPOA depends on Europe’s anti-sanction strategy for countering USA’s sanctions, and if US withdrawal from the deal causes Iran to have no benefits from the deal, being part of the JCPOA has no sense to Islamic Republic of Iran.”, Dr. Kharrazi said.
“Europe is eager to present a package that can counter sanctions and maintain Iran as a party to JCPOA”, Fischer said in the meeting.
“If Europe accepts whatever US wants, then Trump’s administration would cause extra pressure on It.”, he said.
The Complexities and the Necessity of Confronting ISIS-Khorasan
Strategic Council Online – Note: With the rise of the Taliban in Afghanistan, the issue of ISIS-Khorasan, the conflict between these two groups, and the expansion of the scope of their security threats in the region have become more critical than ever before, as the terrorist activities of this terrorist group disrupt regional security. In addition to this, support for suicide activities and armed individuals in the region has also put the security of Iran at risk. Therefore, ISIS-Khorasan is recognized as a significant threat to the eastern security of our country.
