“JCPOA is outcome of successful negotiations; US has violated the deal and the expected economic ties have not been established due to US-manipulated restrictions; protecting JCPOA depends on European countries and they have to prevent US from violating the agreement,” Kharazi said during his meeting with Wolfgang Schüssel, former Chancellor of Austria and President of Foreign Policy and United Nations Association Of Austria (UNA-Austria) on Saturday.
Former Iranian foreign minister also noted the critical condition of Middle East underlining that new bordering or disintegration are not solutions for the crises in the region and efforts should be in direction of respecting ethnic groups’ rights.
Underlining the destabilizing measures of some certain states in region including Saudi Arabia, Kharazi reaffirmed “Iran has a constructive role in helping neighboring countries to confront terrorism and defending their territorial integrity.”
Wolfgang Schüssel, while emphasizing the security issues of Middle East, underlined that regional states should initiate a collective mechanism to safeguard their security as European states did in the past.
“EU would try its best to protect JCPOA; Europeans are now very sensitive to US’ anti-Iran sanctions and urge Americans to stop the violations,” Schüssel said.
