Strategic Council Online: Given Tel Aviv-Washington relations and their long-standing alliance, as well as the hostility and escalation of tensions between China and the United States, it can be said that Israeli-Chinese relations are fully calculated and Tel Aviv would enter into any deal with China by taking into account US sensitivities. China’s proximity to a close ally of the United States, namely the Zionist regime, has raised concerns among White House officials. However, due to long-standing Tel Aviv-Washington relations, these relations do not seem to have much of an effect on relations between the two longtime allies, and it may even be said that Beijing-Tel Aviv relations are somewhat coordinated and overseen by the United States.

Regarding the reasons for the close relationship between the Israeli regime and China, it can be said that Tel Aviv and Beijing both need each other; China needs access to advanced Western and American technology in the areas of aerospace and long-range missiles that exist in Israel; So China is looking for the weapons and technology that the West, and especially the Americans, have supplied to the Israelis.

The Chinese hope that they will be able to enjoy these facilities in the light of the extensive relations with the Zionist regime. At times, of course, we have seen that the Americans have prevented the transfer of Western technology through Israel to China; But in any case, the Chinese have their own ways, and when they enter into a relationship with Tel Aviv, they can actually find channels and communicate with people through whom they could meet at least part of their needs.

In the meantime, the proximity of Israeli-Chinese relations from Tel Aviv’s point of view is important as that global power equations are changing, and their survival in the Middle East would depend on the support of the main power wielders, given their conflict with the Arab Middle East and the Islamic world.

At the same time, the acting status of the great powers in the Middle East is changing; That is, on the one hand, the Chinese are expected to reach a level of power that is decisive in the Middle East, and on the other hand, the Americans have shown a willingness to reduce their role in the Middle East and focus more on East Asia. Therefore, the Zionist regime, considering these issues and with the aim of preserving its survival, is trying to establish extensive relations with all the sources of power in the world.

In a recent article, the American newspaper The Hill referred to the relations between China and the Zionist regime as a threat to the relations between the two old allies [the Zionist regime and the United States]. It said the closeness between China and the Zionist regime has jeopardized relations between Washington and Tel Aviv, particularly because the outbreak of corona has taken the hostility between the United States and China into a new stage. But in reality, the Zionists will be close to China to the extent that their relations with the United States would not be compromised. Most likely, there is a kind of behind-the-scene coordination between the Americans and the Zionists in this regard. It should be noted that China has made great economic progress, and the United States is not reluctant to see part of China’s economic power goes to militarization.

Thus, the sale of weapons by the Zionist regime to China is likely to be very calculated, and it is not the case that the Zionists will do so without coordination with the United States, because Israel and China signed a contract once before, but the US opposition forced Israel to cancel the deal. While India signed a similar agreement with the Zionist regime without any opposition from the United States and the deal became operational.

In response to US demands, Israel has banned any dealings with China over the regime’s military. It also and banned  Chinese telecommunications company Huawei from operating on its 5G network inside Israel.

Therefore, given Tel Aviv-Washington relations and their long-standing alliance, as well as the hostility and escalation of tensions between China and the United States, it can be said that Israeli-Chinese relations are fully calculated and Tel Aviv would enter into any deal with China by taking into account US sensitivities.
